Rob Arthur is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration. He credits most of his formal training to the life-painting classes taught by John Murray. Also while attending school Rob studied the very particular method of painting known as the “ controlled palette”. Now, he deviates from methods studied in his former academic years. Using a freer approach, his work has shifted from illustrative works (originally sci-fi narratives) to art where the sole emphasis is on color and composition.
